How to take care of your nails, lashes, brow and lip tattoos before and after your appointment.
Nails
BEFORE
- Wash your hands.
- Avoid using lotion or oils, products can interfere with polish adhesion.
AFTER
- Apply cuticle and hand cream daily to prevent cracking or lifting.
- Avoid using your nails as tools and wear gloves when cleaning or gardening.
- For shellac polish and gel nails, follow up every 2-3 weeks for maintenance.
- Don’t try to peel or pick off polish, this damages your nail beds.
Lash Extensions
BEFORE
- Arrive without makeup or skincare around your eyes.
- Avoid caffeine, as it can make your eyes flutter.
AFTER
- Cleanse lashes daily with a lash cleanser. (Available for purchase)
- Brush lashes daily to keep them neat and fluffy.
- Do not pick or pull on your lashes.
- Pat your lashes dry when they’re wet
- Sleep on your back and no eye sleeping mask
- Avoid heat (ovens, BBQ’s, lighters)
- Use oil free products around the eyes and no mascara.
- Schedule your fill appointment within 3 weeks
Please note 50% of lash extensions have to remain to be considered a fill appointment. Full set pricing may apply if less than 50% of lashes remain.
Lash Lifts
FOR 24 HOURS
- Do not wet your lashes
- Avoid any eye makeup
- Do not touch or rub your lashes
- Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms, and pools
- Sleep on your back and no sleeping eye mask.
- After the first 24 hours, you may resume using your regular skincare/makeup products.
Schedule your next lash within 8-10 weeks.
Brow Lamination
BEFORE
- Avoid skincare with active ingredients (AHAs, BHAs, retinol etc.) around the brow area for 3 days prior to brow lamination
FOR 24 HOURS
- Keep your brows dry
- Avoid skin care and makeup on brows
- Do not touch or rub your brow area
- Apply conditioning brow serum (we sell in store!)
- Avoid sleeping masks or sleeping on your front
- Avoid sun beds, saunas, steam rooms, and pools
- Avoid active ingredients around the brow area for 3 days.
Schedule your next appointment within 6-8 weeks.
Lip Blush
24 HOURS BEFORE
- Avoid any caffeine or caffeinated products
- Discontinue any blood thinning medications such as warfarin, Advil or Motrin (ibuprofen).
- Avoid alcohol before your appointment. This will make you more sensitive to pain and may increase bleeding which will affect colour retention
AFTER
- Avoid licking your lips
- Drink liquids from a straw to avoid contact with the lips as much as possible
- Your lips will begin to peel. DO NOT pick at the peeling skin. Any skin removed prematurely will affect the colour retention. Allow loose skin to fall off on its own. Healing time will take 5-7 days.
- Avoid spicy foods.
- Apply lip healing ointment (provided) whenever the lips feel dry.
* If you have any prior history of cold sores (herpes virus), please contact your doctor for a prescription of an antiviral medication. This needs to be taken 1 week before your appointment. If not followed, the lip blush procedure may cause a flare up and adversely affect your results.*
PMU Contradictions
- Pregnant or breast feeding.
- History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring.
- Accutane in the past year; must be off accutane for at least 1 year.
- Skin irritations, psoriasis or eczema near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc).
- Diabetic (please consult with a doctor)
- Chemotherapy (please consult with a doctor)
- Viral infections and/or diseases
- Epilepsy
- Under 18 years old
- Botox within 4 weeks of your appointment.
- Any treatments, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system/healing would make you NOT a good candidate for this procedure.
- HAVE HIGH blood pressure or heart conditions. (Please consult with a doctor)
- Blood disorders such as sickle cell anemia, haemophilia or a platelet disorder.
- ALLERGIC to makeup or inks.
- Prone to cold sores (herpes virus) please get prescription for anti viral medication.
